Analysis Of Of Student Archers' Perceptions Of Fluid Requirements And Dehydration Prevention
Abstract
Archery is an accuracy sport that demands a high level of precision, physical stability, motor coordination, and consistent cognitive concentration. As the frequency and intensity of training among student athletes increase, fluid intake becomes a critical factor in preventing dehydration, which can impair athletes’ physiological performance and accuracy. This study aims to analyze student archers’ perceptions of body fluid needs as a means of preventing dehydration. A descriptive quantitative research method was used. The study sample consisted of 20 student archers at the Focus Archery Center club. The research instrument was a questionnaire using a Likert scale. The results showed a response rate of 85.95%. The distribution of perceptions showed that 80% of the athletes had very good cognitive awareness, while 20% fell into the “good” category. It can be concluded that student archery athletes at the Focus Archery Center have a very good perception of the importance of meeting their body’s fluid needs. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of coaches reinforcing this positive perception with proper hydration practices on the field
